A couple weeks while scrolling on instagram I learned via Lindy Dodge, @thimbleandcloth that the National Gallery of Art has open access policy for images in their permanent collection. Images are therefore available for free download for any use.
Over recent years I have seen numerous companies like, Shop Vintage Supply and Juniper Print Shop selling downloadable artwork at a reasonable pricepoint, but I had no idea that galleries were offering downloads for free.
As a designer, I absolutely love supporting artists and buying originals when budget allows, but in cases where budget is limited open source artwork is an incredible option to elevate the design in any room.
