I have so many friends who have recently had babies or are pregnant so I wanted to make a list of all of the most helpful baby products that I actually used. It can feel overwhelming during pregnancy when you feel like there are a million things you have to buy. While there are a lot of great items to have I have narrowed this list down to the top 15 most important items for newborns. Everyone will have difference preferences, but I can say we used each of these a ton during the first few months.
From top left to bottom right, items listed and explained below.
- Solly Baby Swaddle
- BuyBuy Baby Sidesleeper (make sure to also get mattress and sheet that goes with sidesleeper). I loved using a sidsleeper so that I could easily breastfeed at night or check on Arthur.
- Honest Body Wash and Shampoo – We have used from day one for baths and it’s the best.
- Ryan and Rose Pacifier – We gave Arthur a pacifier very early because it helped soothe him for sleeping and provided a lot of comfort.
- Bath Support – Most parents are nervous giving their baby the first bath at home. Having this support made bath time super easy.
- Stroller – easy to push with one hand, sleek design, and love that it puts baby in close reach
- Ubbi Odor Locking Trash Can – Not an exciting purchase, but when you have a load of stinky diapers this keeps smells away.
- Pippa car seat by Nuna
- Philip Advent Glass Bottles – Glass bottles wash so much better than plastic. Also, be sure to get a nipple that is right for newborn (I didn’t know there were different nipple sizes, but it makes a difference with feeding.
- Sleep Sheep – Attach to the side of the crib for comforting sounds to help baby sleep
- Swivel Glider – Rock your baby to sleep in comfort
- Bassinet and Stand
- Wipes – I really like this wipe brand, but Kirkland brand was another go-to for us and for diapers.
- Snotsucker – The first cold for a baby can be scary as a new parent. This comes in handy to suck out snot so baby can breathe better.
- Onsie – A simple, footed onsie.
